SARATOK, 12 September: FA Betong claimed their first ever win in the Sarawak Premier Soccer League Championship 2026 South Zone after defeating Sri Aman FA 4-0 in a fifth-round match at Mini Saratok Stadium today.

The victory allowed the FA Betong to accumulate four points for a win, one draw and two losses, in addition to having one game delayed.

The FA Concrete opened the grid as early as the ninth minute with the original Aiman horn which smoothed out the corner matches.

Mohammad Hatadi Muliady then doubled the FA Betong lead in the 32nd minute after easily squandering the opportunity ahead of Sri Aman FA goalkeeper Muhammad Bukhari Mohd Nizam.

The 2-0 standings remain until the end of the first half.

Connecting the second half, Betong continued to dominate the game and Hatadi once again created a net in the 53rd minute before completing the hat-trick in the 58th minute to make the score 4-0.

The result lasted until the final whistle once saw Betong score three full points, while Sri Aman FA continued to collect points after suffering a third defeat.

FA Concrete coach Abdul Rahman Sapaiee described the win as important to boost player confidence after several previous matches.

He said the three points also opened up opportunities for his team to hunt for the top four positions in the South Zone.

"All the teams expected something like this, but we didn't have too high a target. We'll do our best because we still have two games to go.

"I hope the players keep working, training and not giving up", he said when he was found after the match today.

Meanwhile, Sri Aman FA coach Mohamad Hairulasfia Hasbi admitted the defeat put pressure on his team's chances of finishing in the top four.

However, he said that Sri Aman FA still had an advantage of one match over some other teams and should strive for maximum points in the remaining three matches.

"It's a little hard on paper, but in football nothing is impossible. We're going to keep trying and I'm still positive and confident in the players.

"For the next game, we're going to do something more than 100 percent", he said.

In the sixth-round match on 19 September, Sri Aman FA will face PDRM at the Sri Aman Sports Complex, while Betong FA is out of action next week.
