KUCHING, 12 September: Kuching FA (KFA) recorded a 2-0 win over the FA Series in Sarawak Premier League 2026 South Zone action at Astana Road Housing Field, here today.
The victory came through two networks at the end of the match, thus allowing KFA to take home three points after 90 minutes of intense action.
The two teams faced each other in the first half, but failed to break through.
The KFA finally opened the net curtain in the 81st minute via Azuanie Jasman before Mohammad Shahfitri Salim doubled the lead in the 90th minute.
KFA coach Dzulazlan Ibrahim said he warned players not to rush for goals, but instead remain patient and disciplined in planning the attack.
"For the second half, I tell players not to feel pressured to score goals. We have to be patient, and in every game we have to be patient in devising an offensive strategy.
"When we have space and opportunity, we should make the most of it. As a result, in the second half of last season, players started to translate what was planned", he said when met by TVS after the match.
Meanwhile, FA Series assistant coach Anizan Sahari said the defeat did not break his team's morale facing obstacles in terms of preparation and training facilities.
"Our preparation was rather poor, coupled with the stormy weather and insufficient facilities for training. However, I'm proud of the players because they gave 100 percent throughout the game", he said.
