KUCHING (March 26): Police presence and engagement in Bau and Lundu have contributed to growing public confidence and improved safety in the Mas Gading parliamentary constituency, said Mordi Bimol.

The Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports and Mas Gading MP commended personnel at the Bau and Lundu district police headquarters (IPDs) for their dedication in safeguarding the well-being of the people.

Mordi said he had personally observed positive changes brought about by the police, including a more active presence in strategic areas, more effective action in addressing crime, and closer ties with the community.

“I have also received feedback from residents who acknowledge the improvements and feel more confident with the police presence in their surroundings. This reflects the tangible impact of efforts by both IPDs on the daily lives of the people,” he said in a statement to mark the 219th Police Day.

He emphasised that the dedication, courage, and sacrifices of police personnel are deeply appreciated, noting that they not only ensure public safety but also serve as role models in strengthening community relations.

Mordi called for continued cooperation between the police and the public, forming the foundation for a safer, more united, and caring society in Mas Gading.

He also thanked the public for their feedback and support, describing the progress achieved as a result of shared commitment between the authorities and the community.

Mordi and Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin were in Bau on Wednesday for Police Day celebrations at the Bau IPD.
