Regent of Pahang explores Sarawak’s development

KUCHING: His Royal Highness the Regent of Pahang, Crown Prince Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Ibni Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billal Shah, visited the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) Tower, Petros Darul Hana Multi-Fuel Station, and the Algae Nursery Site Resintech SEDC on his fourth day of the official working visit today (Jan 18).

His arrival at approximately 9:48 am at the SEDC Tower was welcomed by Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability, Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, and SEDC General Manager, Datuk Abdul Hadi Abdul Kadir.

According to a report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), Tengku Hassanal received a briefing from Abdul Hadi regarding the Sarawak Hydrogen Road Map and Initiative.

Next, he visited the PETROS Darul Hana Multi-Fuel Station and was accompanied by Dr Hazland and Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.

His arrival at 11:05 am was welcomed by SEDC Energy Chief Executive Officer, Robert Hardin, and Tengku Hassanal was briefed on the collaborative operations between SEDC and Petros in the effort to implement hydrogen-based energy usage.

Afterwards, he visited the Algae Nursery Site Resintech SEDC in Demak Laut Industrial Park.

During the visit, he received a briefing on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production technology from algae, which has been proven to generate new energy while benefiting the environment. The briefing was conducted by Adam Nasir Nawi, the Chief Executive Officer of Project Delivery and Technology Commercialization at PETRONAS’ Center of Advanced Technology.

Tengku Hassanal is in Kuching for a five-day working visit from Jan 15 to 19.
