KUCHING, Dec 27: The retail prices of diesel as well as RON95 and RON97 petrol will remain unchanged at RM2.15, RM2.05 and RM3.47 per litre, respectively, from Dec 28 to Jan 3.

In a statement posted on its social media page today, the Ministry of Finance emphasised that the weekly retail prices of petroleum products are determined by the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) formula.

In an effort to shield consumers from the global price surge, the Federal government has opted to sustain the ceiling prices of RON95 at RM2.05 per litre and diesel at RM2.15 per litre, despite the fact that the market prices for both products have risen above the current ceiling prices.

The statement further affirmed the government’s commitment to closely monitoring the trends in global crude oil prices.

It assured the public that appropriate measures will be taken to safeguard the ongoing welfare and well-being of the people. — DayakDaily
