River traffic restricted along 1.5km Sg Limbang stretch from Sept 16-20 for Regatta Pesta Limbang

KUCHING, Sept 8: The section along Sungai Limbang from Pasar Tamu Limbang to the Marine Police base, stretching approximately 1.5km, will be temporarily closed for riverine traffic from Sept 16 to Sept 20, from 6am to 5pm.

In a notice issued by the Sarawak Rivers Board (SRB) shared by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), the temporary closure is in conjunction with the Regatta Pesta Limbang 2026.

“Mariners and river users are advised to navigate with extreme caution and to reduce speed when approaching the vicinity,” it said.

It also advised the shipping community and the public to cooperate fully and follow officials’ instructions to avoid any untoward incidents during the event. — DayakDaily
