Rodtang’s next fight: In Malaysia?

KUCHING: A fight in Malaysia could be next on the wish-list of Muay Thai superstar Rodtang Jitmuangnon, who hopes to step into the ring in front of Malaysian fans.

Rodtang shared the aspiration on social media after meeting Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister, Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, with a photograph of the pair also posted alongside his message.

Tiong, who is also Dudong assemblyman and Bintulu Member of Parliament, was pictured with the Thai fighting star during the meeting.

Rodtang also met Tourism Malaysia’s Director-General, Amirul Rizal, during the engagement.

“I am so delighted to meet the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia, YB Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, and also the Director-General of Tourism Malaysia, Amirul Rizal,” he said in his post.

He then expressed hope that his dream of fighting in front of Malaysian fans would become a reality.

“And I hope my dream to fight in front of my Malaysia fans will come true, insya-Allah,” Rodtang said.

Rodtang is a professional Muay Thai fighter and kickboxer who has competed professionally since 2013.

He currently competes in the Flyweight division of ONE Championship and is a former and the longest-reigning ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion.

As of September 22, he is ranked No. 2 in the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai rankings.

The Thai fighter is also regarded as one of the highest-paid Muay Thai fighters in the world.
