Sarawak acts Ta’dan and Suk Binie opened the evening with performances rooted in the State’s rich cultural heritage, while international groups including the Philippines’ Drum Up, Uzbekistan’s Fergana Cultural Group and Thailand’s ASIA7 introduced audiences to musical traditions from across Asia.

AkashA from West Malaysia continued the momentum before British acid jazz outfit Incognito took to the stage as the festival’s final headliner, drawing loud cheers from the crowd and closing the three-day celebration on a high note.

The finale capped off another successful edition of RWMF, which welcomed thousands of visitors over three days despite concerns that rising airfares would dampen attendance.

With the curtain now drawn on this year’s festival, attention turns to RWMF’s 30th anniversary in 2027 which will feature a revamped stage, upgraded festival facilities and a stronger lineup of headlining acts as Sarawak looks to make the milestone edition its biggest yet. — DayakDaily
