KUCHING, Oct 12: Singapore’s Foo Cexiang, who is the MP for Tanjong Pagar GRC, stepped into the wrestling ring on Sunday (Oct 11), taking on two opponents with moves reminiscent of those popularised by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) stars.

In a video by Channel News Asia (CNA), Foo, who is also Singapore’s Minister of State for Manpower and Trade & Industry, was shown doing ‘The People’s Elbow’—a signature move made popular by professional wrestler Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

The move, a choreographed jump presented as a body slam led with an elbow, is recognised as one of WWE’s most iconic and well-known signature manoeuvres.

Free Malaysia Today reported that Foo was seen facing off against two wrestlers during a community event organised by the community club in his Tanjong Pagar constituency.

The staged wrestling match was part of a community event that also featured elderly wrestlers participating in the HUNCLE programme, which stands for ‘Healthy Uncles who Network, drink Coffee, Learn, and Exercise’.

Launched in 2024, the programme caters to men aged 50 and above. — DayakDaily
