KUCHING, Mar 7: The Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) brought joy to 100 students from 10 schools today with festive contributions to ease their preparations for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment, Datuk Len Talif Salleh, who represented Deputy Premier and STIDC chairman Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan, attended the Iftar event at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) today with his wife, Datin Asiah Awai.
STIDC said the event aims to strengthen bonds among staff while also highlighting its corporate social responsibility (CSR) through contributions to underprivileged children (asnaf).
The participating schools included Sekolah Rakyat Jalan Haji Bolhassan, SK Merpati Jepang, SK Pajar Sejingkat, SK Kampung Senari, SK Matu Baru, SK Rakyat Tupong, SK Rakyat Astana, SK Goebilt, SK Pulo, and SK Gersik.
STIDC said this annual initiative reflects its commitment to ease the burden of the underprivileged and sharing the blessings of Ramadan with the local community.
Among those present were permanent secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Urban Development Datu Abdullah Julaihi; advisor to the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment Sarawak Dato Sri Mohd Naroden Majais; STIDC general manager Datu Zainal Abidin Abdullah; STIDC advisor Datu Hashim Bojet; Sarawak Forestry Department (SFD) director Datu Hamden Mohammad; and STIDC staff members. — DayakDaily
