KUCHING, May 15: Sarawak will be implementating e-Procurement System to elevate the procurement regime towards international standards while ensuring a seamless and innovative procurement ecosystem with the first stage expected to be rolled out by end of this year.
Second Minister for Finance and New Economy Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas explained that with the system, the procurement exercise will be conducted digitally to enhance efficiency, effectiveness and transparency of the government procurement processes.
The development of the system is divided into three stages.
“Stage 1, which involves the development of an e-Direct Purchase module, has been completed and will be rolled out by year end.
“Stage 2 involves the development of an e-Quotation module is ongoing and has achieved 72 per cent completion,” he told the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) when delivering his ministerial winding-up speech today.
Uggah, who is Deputy Premier, added that after completing Stage 2, Stage 3 will follow with the development of the e-Tender module. — DayakDaily
