KUCHING, 15 September: Sarawak Police Commissioner, Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah is appointed as the Managing Director of Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) Bukit Aman.
The appointment saw Mohamad Zainal, 48, take over the post from Datuk Seri Abdul Aziz Abdul Majid who was now appointed Deputy Chief of National Police with effect from 9 September.
PDRM Sarawak contingent in a Facebook post yesterday congratulated on the appointment and described it as a recognition of Mohamad Zainal's leadership and extensive experience in police service.
"Throughout his leadership of the PDRM in Sarawak, his leadership has always been based on integrity, professionalism, well-being of team members as well as priority to safety and welfare of society.
"All the services, contributions and leadership that were poured out must be part of memories and legacies that are highly valued by all PDRM citizens of Sarawak", according to the message.
Mohamad Zainal began his tenure as the Sarawak Police Commissioner on 26 September last year, having previously held several senior positions including Deputy Director of Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) Investigations/Laws in Bukit Aman and Chief Assistant Director D5 Prosecutions/Laws in JSJ Bukit Aman.
He has also served as Chief of the Dang Wangi Regional Police (KPD) and Central Perak KPD, in addition to having an academic background in law, human resources as well as administration and justice.
The appointment also made Mohamad Zainal among the youngest directors in the PDRM's top leadership.
PDRM Sarawak also hopes that he leads with integrity, adhering to the principles of professionalism and upholding trust in services in order to strengthen the excellence of PDRM as well as ensure national security and people's welfare continue to be a priority. - TVS
