KUCHING, Jan 15: Sarawak’s remarkable progress and achievements today are never-before-seen in the State’s history, thanks to the good leadership under Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

Political pundit Dato Peter Minos said a friend from Kuala Lumpur had recently complimented how lucky Sarawak is for having leaders that can steer Sarawak towards true political stability, modern progress and a harmonious society.

“One can say that Sarawak has never seen it this way—a record high revenue of RM13.3 billion, new industries that amaze, new ideas being actualised, of people talking confidently of the future and a leader who is very clear on his vision and plans and implements them so passionately.

“We all know it and why we are what we are today which is due to the top leadership which is backed by the people. It is the progressive, proactive, innovative and creative top leadership,” the former Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu deputy info chief said in a statement yesterday.

He further said Sarawakians are proud and happy of where Sarawak is today, not to mention when the whole of Malaysia is seeking her advice on its remarkable achievements.

“Who in Sarawak has thought of the so many new industries coming up such as hydrogen-powered autonomous rapid transit (ART), Bintulu Port takeover, a State-owned airline, a State-owned bank and many other things in the coming years.

“I can foresee that by 2030, Sarawak will be on top of all things as we are already talking of giving free tertiary education to the eligible students by 2026, raising our gross domestic product (GDP) to RM280 billion by 2030 and better housing and utilities for all.

“We must acknowledge that all these achievements coincided with our Premier at the helm for the last 7 years. We can say that he is the man behind it all as initiator and leader. From here, the rest of us should follow and help out,” he added. — DayakDaily
