Sarawak signs MoU with LTAT to explore potential collab in various sectors

KUCHING (July 19): The Sarawak government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) to explore potential cooperation, collaboration and sharing of information and provision of support to each other.

Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said such collaboration presents a unique opportunity for them explore potential cooperation and collaboration in six priority sectors namely manufacturing, commercial agriculture, tourism, forestry, mining and services

“As we know, LTAT manages a sustainable provident fund that was established in August 1972, and I was given to understand that LTAT’s investment goal is to provide sustainable long-term growth in the retirement savings of its members through accumulation of consistent dividend returns and preservation of capital.

“They have a sound diversified portfolio that spans across various asset classes and key sectors of the economy, which include financial services, property, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, heavy industries, plantation, manufacturing, construction, technology, consumer and industrial products,” he said at the MoU signing ceremony in Kuala Lumpur today.

Abang Johari added that the agreement also marks an important step in Sarawak’s effort to achieve the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS 2030).

Representing Sarawak signing the MoU was State Financial Secretary Dato Sri Dr Wan Lizozman Wan Omar and LTAT was represented by its chief executive Mohammad Ashraf Md Radzi.

Also present were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, and deputy premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, and Datuk Amar Prof Dr Sim Kui Hian.
