KUCHING, Aug 20: The Sarawak tenpin bowling squad wrapped up their medal count at the 21st Malaysian Games (Sukma) tonight with an impressive haul of five gold, one silver, and two bronze medals, topping the tenpin bowling leaderboard.
This strong performance saw Sarawak leading the competition, leaving Selangor in second place with one gold, three silver, and one bronze medal, while Penang settled for third with one gold, two silver, and two bronze medals.
Looking back, 21-year-old athlete Nur Hazirah Ramli delivered the most medals at five, earning four gold medals in the women’s individual event, women’s doubles event (alongside Lavinia Kho Jia Jie), mixed doubles event (alongside Tsen Fan Yew), and women’s trio event (alongside Lavinia Kho Jia Jie and Asya Dania Azree).
She also won a bronze medal in the women’s team of five event together Lavinia Kho Jia Jie, Claudia Kumang Jackson, Asya Dania Azree and Dayang Yumi Azreen Abang Azman.
Meanwhile, the final push today saw 21-year-old Tsen Fan Yew securing a gold medal in the men’s master event held at the Megalanes Emart Batu Kawa here.
The single silver medal was delivered by duo Muhammad Ihsan Fikri Suffian and Claudia Kumang Jackson in the mixed doubles event, while the last bronze medal was secured by the men’s team of five comprising Tsen Fan Yew, Ethan Damien Goh Chen Ming, Cornelius Aldhelm Sajat, Muhammad Isyraq Iqbal Ramadhan, Eldred Kho Yek Zhen and Muhammad Ihsan Fikri Suffian. – DayakDaily
