Sibu residents to face brief water outage for pipe work on April 2-3

SIBU (April 1): Several areas in Sibu will face a temporary water supply disruption from 9.30pm on April 2 until 3am the following day, announced Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd (Sarawak Water) Central Region.

The disruption is necessary for the installation of a 300mm ductile iron pipe crossing at the Sing Kwong Shopping Complex car park.

Affected areas include Jalan Siol, Jalan Salim 17, Jalan Salim 18, Jalan Salim 21, Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce Lorong 32 and 36, Jalan Maludan, and Jalan Poh Yew.

“Our contractor will strive to complete the work as soon as possible,” the utility company said in a statement.

It added that the work may be postponed to the following day if weather conditions are unfavourable.
