MUKAH, 4 Oct: The Sarawakku Sayang (SKS) Open Section Programme has become a platform for bringing government services closer to the community through an off-the-field approach, thus enabling various issues to be resolved directly.

Dr Abdul Yakub Arbi, Member of the National Assembly (ADUN) Balingian said that this approach also helps bridge the gap between government and people by providing multiple services in one location.

"Under the official theme 'Keep Sarawak Intu Sarawak', through the Sarawak Pavilion & Services component, the government has translated the concept of One Stop Centre face-to-face.

"This down-the-field approach is aimed at breaking down the bureaucratic wall, eliminating the gap and bringing direct service to the people", he said while addressing the Open Division SKS Suspension Council in Pehin Setia Raja Square, here today.

According to him, the approach is translated through an integrated counter cluster covering administrative services, digital and innovation, entrepreneurship, education and human capital, health as well as social and welfare.

In addition, the integrated provision of services enables communities to access a range of facilities including advisory services, document authentication, digital identity registration, bill payment and relief and welfare related matters.

"The administrative cluster of the department manages advisory services, validation of official documents and receives direct feedback via TALIKHIDMAT counter.

"Digital and Innovation clusters also help register myDigitalID through SarawakPass as well as pay utility bills and assessed taxes online", he said.

He said the approach to reaching people was also extended to aspects of education, health, entrepreneurship and welfare to ensure that various sections of society directly benefit.

In addition, the visit of the Prime Minister of Sarawak, His Highness Datuk Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to the Revival Spectrum House Project (RSP) in Balingian yesterday demonstrated the seriousness of the Government of Sarawak in providing affordable, quality and equipped with modern utilities for local people.

The Open Division SKS program takes place from 2 to 4 October in Plain Pehin Setia Raja.
