KUCHING, 17 Sept: Efforts to strengthen digital learning in National High School (SMK) Santubong are enhanced through the contribution of four smart televisions from Maybank Sarawak Region through Maybank's Light Love Program.
Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said the facility could create a more interactive learning environment, as well as help teachers apply technology in teaching and learning processes.
He said the donation was also part of continuing cooperation between Maybank and Santubong Parliament in supporting education development.
"This year, the partnership is continuing at Santubong High School with a focus on digital education transformation.
"With this smart television, the learning environment will be more interactive, engaging and in line with current educational technology developments", he said.
He said this while addressing Maybank Global Corporate Responsibility (CR) Day 2026 and Light Love Challenge Programme 2026-2027 at SMK Santubong here today.
Nancy, who is also the Santubong Member of Parliament, said education remains a priority as access to quality education opens up more opportunities for younger generations.
He says education not only creates jobs, but also increases income and helps families build better lives.
In this regard, he urged the students of Santubong High School to make full use of the facilities and opportunities available and not make their residence or family background an obstacle to achieving success.
"Make the best use of these facilities and opportunities. Make education a way to change your own and family lives", he said.
The programme also provides ongoing guidance and support to beneficiaries for two years to ensure that the benefits received are more comprehensive and sustainable. - TVS
