MIRI (March 31): SMK Chung Hua Miri recorded an outstanding performance in the 2025 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination, with 20 students achieving straight A’s, reflecting the school’s continued pursuit of academic excellence.

Among the top scorers, Kueh Jing Tong stood out with an impressive 11A, having also excelled in Chinese Literature alongside 10 core subjects, while 18 students obtained 10A across all subjects.

Overall, 75 students scored at least 5A, indicating strong performance across both science and arts streams.

In a statement, principal Lai Jia Ling said the achievement reflected the dedication and perseverance of both teachers and students.

“The result is a testament to the school’s longstanding emphasis on balanced development in character and intellect,” she said, adding that teachers’ guidance, parental support and students’ determination played a major role.

She also thanked the board of directors, parent-teacher association and alumni association for their continued support, saying the school would further strengthen its learning environment to help students achieve greater success.

Board chairperson Tan Sri Datuk Paduka Chai Yu Lan congratulated the students and school community, saying the results reflected decades of commitment to academic excellence and character building.

She added that the school would continue to enhance teaching resources and campus facilities to improve the learning environment further.
