SPAOH, Jan 18: Ministry of Health (MOH) in partnership with Betong Division Development Agency (BDDA) is planning to construct a haemodialysis centre in Spaoh at an estimated cost of RM1 million.

Deputy Premier of Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas highlighted the critical need for a haemodialysis clinic in Spaoh as many patients currently have to travel to distant facilities for treatment.

“In the latest feedback, MOH has indicated that the process of acquiring land for the new clinic will commence before considering the allocation for the construction of the new clinic,” he said in a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas).

Uggah, who is also Bukit Saban assemblyman, made these remarks during a working visit to the Spaoh health clinic with Deputy Minister of Health Dato Lukanisman Awang Sauni on Wednesday (Jan 17).

At the same event, Lukanisman approved an allocation of RM350,000 for the refurbishment of the Spaoh health clinic.

Additionally, an ambulance was handed over to the Spaoh health clinic to enhance the facility’s capacity to provide timely and efficient medical services. — DayakDaily
