Squash Men’s Double: Sarawak advances to final

KUCHING: The Sarawak men’s double pair of Harith Danial Jefri and Altamis Aqhar Sallam A Sufian, advanced to the final of the squash competition which will take place today (Aug 20).

The pair defeated the duo from Melaka, Veroon Heng and Andrik Kai Shan Lim, in the semi-final held at the Squash Centre here yesterday afternoon (Aug19).

They triumphed over their opponents in a tight match, 11-10 and 11-9, earning their spot in the final and a chance to win the gold medal for Sarawak.

Tomorrow, the Sarawak pair will face Ishant Shah and Dhirren Raharathinam from Penang.

Meanwhile, the women’s double pair of Nathalie Shu Eng Sim and Whitney Isabelle Wilson will compete against the Negeri Sembilan’ Harleein Tan and Haneesha Veerakumar, for the bronze medal.

Nathalie and Whitney were defeated 2 – 1 by the pair from Sabah, Doyce Ye San Lee and Xin Ying Yee, this afternoon.
