SIBU (April 7): As the backbone of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) must continue to uphold unity to remain relevant and accepted by the people, said political secretary to Sarawak Premier Sayed Azmee Wan Junaidi.

He said as one family, PBB members share a collective responsibility to preserve harmony within the party.

“We are the voice of the grassroots, enabling the government to continue driving its development agenda and implementing policies effectively.

“Therefore, members and leaders at the grassroots level must play an important role,” he said when officiating a Hari Raya gathering organised by PBB Pelawan at Lakis hall here on Sunday.

Sayed Azmee stressed that unity is crucial, especially with the state election drawing near.

“The election is not far away, so we must remain united.

“We cannot afford to be divided,” he added.

Sayed Azmee also urged members to make use of such gatherings to strengthen ties and maintain harmony, so that progress can be sustained and the welfare of the community continues to be safeguarded.

Earlier, organising chairman Councillor Syed Hamzah Wan Hamid Edruce called on party machinery to be prepared for the upcoming state election.

He urged members to support party leaders and work towards ensuring victory for GPS.

“Do not be divided. If there are misunderstandings, discuss and resolve them.

“I hope the large PBB family will continue to uphold unity,” he said.

Also present was Temenggong Datuk Wan Hamid Edruce.
