KAPIT (March 27): The strong cooperation among elected representatives in Kapit has resulted in smoother planning and implementation of projects in the parliamentary constituency, said Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi.

The Works Minister and Kapit MP said among the implemented projects are a bridge linking Nanga Yong to Nanga Belawai, the new district police headquarters, and a road connecting Semaram to Nanga Belawai.

“The total development allocation for Kapit Division has exceeded RM1 billion. Securing development funds takes time and strong coordination among all elected representatives,” he said.

Nanta, who chairs the Upper Rajang Development Agency, said this at a recent meet-the-people gathering at Rumah Annie Isop in Nanga Pelagus.

Adding on, he said Sarawak is witnessing rapid development under the leadership of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

He called on the people to stay united and give their full support to the government’s ongoing development initiatives.

At the gathering, Nanta announced an allocation of RM30,000 for a project at Rumah Annie, as well as other allocations for village security and development committees, women’s bureaus, and schools in Nanga Pelagus.

Present at the gathering were Pelagus assemblyman Wilson Nyabong Ijang, Baleh assemblyman Nicholas Kudi Jantai, Works Ministry special duties officer Datuk Alvin Runggah Jimbun, and the Premier’s political secretary Watson Awan Jalai.
