KUCHING, Aug 20: Sarawak punched their ticket to the final of the men’s recurve archery event at the 21st Malaysian Games (Sukma) yesterday (Aug 19).

In a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) news report, the team consisting of Isaac Ann Zhe Ting, Liew Yu Jie, and Melvin Tieh Xien Ruey bested the Johor team represented by Muhammad Akid Bazli, Muhammad Danish Amsyar, and Wan Qayyim Syahmi.

With loud cheers from Sarawakians who came to the event, which was held at the Petra Jaya Archery Range, Sarawak defeated Johor 6-0.

Sarawak will meet with Pahang, who defeated the Federal Territories with a score of 4-2 to advance to the final round.

The Federal Territories will meet with Johor to determine who will win the bronze medal at the finals.

The finals will be held this coming Friday (Aug 23) at 10.50am. — DayakDaily
