Sukma media centre in Sibu opens today

SIBU (Aug 11): The media centre for the 21st Malaysia Games (Sukma) in Sibu, located at the Sibu Indoor Stadium, officially opened today.

Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) officer Jelani Ajang said the media centre will operate in two phases.

“The first phase will run from Aug 11-16, during which it will be opened from 8am-6pm.

“The second phase will run from Aug 17-24 and will open from 8am-10pm, as some badminton and indoor volleyball matches are scheduled to take place in the evening.

“The media centre will remain open beyond regular hours if any events extend beyond 10pm,” he told reporters after a briefing session with media practitioners today.

Jelani added the media centre’s opening aims to provide services to media professionals covering the games.

“At this media centre, we provide essential information such as competition results, schedules and updates on Sukma,” he said.
