KUCHING (April 8): The Bau branch of Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) has donated building materials to a family here to assist in extending their house and improving their living conditions.
The delivery of the contribution was led by branch chairman Chong Yie Loong, who said the initiative was part of the party’s ongoing community outreach efforts.
“The family has expanded as their children have grown into adulthood, and so, their current home is no longer spacious enough to comfortably accommodate everyone.
“The homeowner had intended to extend the house but was unable to proceed due to financial limitations,” he said.
He added that upon learning of the situation, SUPP Bau stepped in to assist by contributing timber and other building materials to support the extension works and help ease the family’s burden.
Chong said the assistance reflects the branch’s commitment to community service.
SUPP Bau, he added, remains guided by its principle of ‘People First, Serving the People’, regularly engaging with residents to better understand their needs and offering assistance within its means.
“I would like to thank the party members and concerned individuals for their support, which has helped ensure the smooth implementation of the initiative.
“We will continue to roll out similar community care efforts in the future to ensure aid reaches those in need,” said Chong.
