KUCHING: Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus has launched a MyFutureJobs Career Hub in partnership with the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) to improve students’ and graduates’ access to employment support.
The dedicated on-campus centre will provide career coaching, job-matching assistance, industry insights and access to employment opportunities through the MyFutureJobs digital platform.
The hub was launched during the Swinburne Sarawak Careers Fair 2026 on Oct 2, which attracted 1,065 participants, 30 employers and seven partner organisations.
Sarawak PERKESO regional chief Dr Belinda Lim Kim Moi said the initiative reflected the organisation’s commitment to improving graduate employability.
“Through this collaboration, we aim to provide students with direct access to career support services, industry insights and employment opportunities that can help accelerate their career journeys,” she said.
Swinburne Sarawak pro vice-chancellor and chief executive officer Dato Prof Ir Lau Hieng Ho said preparing graduates for employment required cooperation among educational institutions, industries and government agencies.
“Graduate employability is a collective approach. Universities provide education and knowledge, while industries provide real-world challenges, experiences and opportunities.
“Government agencies provide enabling platforms and support mechanisms. Together, we build the talent ecosystem that drives economic and social progress,” he said when opening the fair.
The university also exchanged a memorandum of understanding with Top Glove to formalise cooperation in talent development, industry-focused learning and innovation.
Both parties will explore student internships, industrial training projects and recruitment pathways for graduates, with the first initiatives expected to begin within the coming months.
“Top Glove is pleased to partner with Swinburne Sarawak in developing future-ready talent.
“We look forward to creating meaningful learning opportunities for students while building a stronger pipeline of skilled graduates,” the company said.
Now in its second year, the annual careers fair connects students and graduates directly with employers and industry partners before they enter the workforce.
