Teen boy attacked by croc

KUCHING: A 15-year-old boy fell victim to a crocodile attack in the Semariang Aman river while fishing with three of his friends today.

The victim, Fakhrul Zaini, was said to be attacked by the crocodile before being taken upstream.

According to a report by the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the incident happened at Lorong Cahaya 4E, Bandar Baru Samariang at 4.27 pm and a team from the Petra Jaya Fire Station team was promptly despatched to the scene.

According to one of the victim’s friends, they all entered the river when their net got entangled. Fakhrul, who was at the forefront, was attacked by a crocodile.

The incident was witnessed by the victim’s friend, who stated that Fakhrul was attacked before being taken upstream.

As of now, the search operation for the victim is underway.
