The 2026 Carnival concert has been postponed to next year.

KUCHING, 10 Oct: Carnival concert SibuJaya 2026 postponed to next year due to uncertainty across the border in Sarawak.

The organisers, Amcorp SibuJaya Sdn Bhd in a statement said the decision was made to ensure the safety and comfort of visitors, participants and staff as the event involved large-scale activities in open areas.

According to the statement, the safety and well-being of all parties remained a priority for the organisers.

Although the Air Pollution Index (IPU) in Sarawak shows signs of recovery, the dust situation remains uncertain.

In related developments, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) on October 8 reported that the Super El Niño phenomenon is expected to peak in December and likely continue until February 2027.

The organizers also expressed appreciation to all sponsors, partners, artists and the public for their continued support of the event.

The organizers hope to re-organize the SibuJaya Carnival Concert in 2027 with a better experience for all visitors.
