The autopsy was carried out at Miri before being flown to the peninsula.

MIRI, 13 September: Funeral prayer for two victims of the FDS helicopter crash in Long Lellang, Ulu Baram was completed at Jamal Addin Mosque, Jelita Park, here this morning.

The funeral prayer included Allahyarham Captain Zainol Afiq Bee Sham, a helicopter pilot, and Allahyarhamah Dr Ainul Baraah Kamaruddin, a medical officer serving in the FDS mission.

The funeral prayer was conducted after the morning prayers and accompanied by a congregation that included Captain Zainol's father, Bee Sham Ahmad, 59, to mourn the fardu kifayah as well as pray for both victims.

Both were among the five people killed in a helicopter crash near STOLport Long Lellang, Ulu Baram, on September 8.

Allahyarham Captain Zainol served as a pilot, while Allahyarhamah Dr Ainul Baraah was a medical officer involved in the FDS service to provide health services to rural communities.

The departure of both victims also left a profound impact on the families, colleagues and communities receiving FDS services in rural Sarawak. - TVS
