KUCHING, 16 Oct: Kuching City FC head coach Aidil Sharin Sahak described his squad as deserving of a win with a bigger net when tied 1-1 against Kitchee SC in the second leg of Group H Asian Champions League Two (ACL2) at Taha Ariffin Stadium, last night.

The Cats were seen to be able to create many opportunities and put pressure on representatives from Hong Kong with high-intensity gameplay patterns.

However, Aidil's word opportunity does not translate into more positive results especially when acting on the site itself.

"I think we deserve to win this game, in this game we can see how many opportunities are created.

"We put pressure on the opponents to score goals, but that's football, if you don't score, you won't win a game", he said at a press conference after the match.

He acknowledged the team's performance was improving, especially in the second half, but the sharpness on the offensive side needed to be improved immediately for the upcoming match.

In the meantime, Aidil continued to appreciate the commitment of players who showcase a positive performance even though the results achieved were not as expected.

The Singaporean operator said the game's compatibility, attitude and understanding between players improved after playing 11 matches in various competitions, although teams often switched players.

Aidil stressed that the entire team should be responsible for correcting weaknesses, with more compact tactics and discipline when attacking as well as defending being a priority.

He also acknowledged that a tight schedule affects recovery and training times, in addition to describing the first participation in ACL2 as a learning process.

He said, the focus is now also on the league's rivals to keep Kuching City competitive and have a chance to return to the Asian stage next season. - TVS
