The Golden Citizen Lost in the Durian Garden Found Safe

SELANGAU, Sept. 13: A 78-year-old golden citizen reported missing after going to a durian garden near the Duat River Bridge here yesterday was found safe today.

Victim Kaya Umbie was reported to have left his home at around 8am yesterday morning for the garden, but did not return until his family filed a police report.

According to the Operations Movement Centre (PGO) of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Sarawak, the Selangau Fire and Rescue Police (BBP) received complaints from police at 8.30 am today for conducting search and rescue operations (SAR).

"The bomb squad arrived at the scene at 8:42 a.m. and began operations one minute later with an eight-man force using a FRT Scania engine.

"On arrival at the scene, the team found that the victim had been found safe by residents of the long house before taking his family to Selangau Clinic for medical examination", according to the statement.

The bomb squad then went to the Snail Clinic for further information and verified the victim's identity before making sure he was safe.

The SAR operation ended at 9:39 a.m.
