The MPP is conducting a tax assessment in Matang Jaya.

KUCHING, 15 Sept: Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) conducted Task Force Exemption Tax Cuts Assessment operation around Matang Jaya and surrounding area to track premises owners who still have tax cuts yesterday.

The operation, which ran from 8.30 a.m. to 1 p.m., focused on homeowners and building premises with estimated tax arrears of more than three years.

According to the MPP statement, the implementation of the operation is aimed at quoting tax compliance as well as raising public awareness about the responsibility of clarifying assessment taxes to support local development and welfare.

"MPP also reminds premises owners to clarify the assessment tax within the stipulated period in order to avoid late payment or surcharge fines.

"The public is also called upon to be responsible and prudent taxpayers in order to ensure that public facilities and services can continue to be provided to the population", the statement said.
