KUCHING, Sept. 15: The spirit of solidarity must continue to be a milestone in building Malaysia more mature, balanced and appreciating the strengths and uniqueness of each province and its people.

Citing a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), the Secretary to the Government of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki said that the 63-year journey of Malaysia's formation is packed with various experiences, mourning and challenges that test the resilience and spirit of solidarity of the people.

According to him, each phase of national integration teaches that Malaysia's true strength lies not only in achievements but also the ability of its people to continue to understand, respect and trust one another.

"There's still a lot of work to be done. In moving forward, the spirit of solidarity must remain a milestone in creating a more mature, balanced Malaysia and appreciating the strengths of each province and its people", he said in his message for Malaysia Day 2026.

In the meantime, he said, Sarawak Public Service should translate this spirit through an iltizam in service delivery to ensure that development can be experienced directly by the people.

Furthermore, Sarawak will continue to play a role in shaping the country's future by bringing its own strength, uniqueness and aspirations for a more developed, prosperous and resilient Malaysia.
