Three cars destroyed, another damaged in midnight fire

KUCHING: A midnight blaze destroyed three cars parked next to a factory today.

In addition, a fourth car was also damaged in the 12.30 am incident.

No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident that took place at Jalan Demak Maju, Demak Industrial Park Phase 3.

A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Tabuan Jaya station were deployed to the scene following a distress call.

On arrival, they found a Perodua Axia and two Proton Sagas destroyed in the fire while a Proton Wira was 70 per cent damaged.

Firefighters completed their operation at 1.25 am.

The cause of the fire and losses incurred are still under investigation.
