KUCHING: Three Sarawak social enterprises have secured Hasanah Social Enterprise Fund (HSEF) grants of up to RM100,000 through the SEHebat Catalyst Cohort 2 programme, with another three shortlisted.
The six-month accelerator programme also facilitated three partnerships and helped participants strengthen their business strategies, raise brand awareness and increase sales.
Organised by Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) with Biji-Biji Initiative, the programme supported 10 social enterprises in growing their businesses and social and environmental impact.
“It is important to create practical opportunities for social enterprises to move beyond capacity building and establish meaningful connections within the wider business ecosystem,” said SDEC representative Nur Atiqah in a statement.
The participants presented their achievements and growth plans at the programme’s Demo Day at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching on Tuesday (Oct. 6), held in conjunction with the ninth International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak.

Participants also received guidance on grant applications from Yayasan Hasanah and social enterprise accreditation from Institut Keusahawanan Negara (INSKEN).
Their businesses span sectors including traditional craftsmanship, agriculture, education, childcare and environmental sustainability.
SEHebat Catalyst will return for its third cohort in 2027, aiming to expand participation among entrepreneurs in suburban areas across Sarawak.
Application details will be announced through SDEC’s social media channels and the Kamek Digital WhatsApp Channel.
