KAPIT, 10 Oct: Police conducted an integrated patrol along the Selirik-Mujong-Balleh Road, covering Kapit and Bukit Mabong districts, to prevent crime as well as improve compliance with traffic rules.

The round, which ran from 10 am to 6 pm yesterday, was led by the Chief of the Regional Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division (BSPTD) Kapit in cooperation with the Regional Crime Prevention and Community Safety Division (BPJKKD).

According to IPD Kapit's statement, the operation focuses on crime prevention patrols, vehicle inspections, detection of suspicious activity and enforcement of traffic offences in order to ensure the safety of road users.

"A total of 15 vehicles were inspected during the operation, including three motorcycles, seven four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicles and five trucks.

"The results of the examination saw five pieces of PDRM (K) 257 helmets removed from three trucks for various offenses, including carrying dangerous goods and using bald tires", the statement said.

Police will continue to intensify patrols and inspections to ensure road users comply with the rules and prioritize safety while driving.

The public is also urged to send information to the police if any suspicious offences or activities are detected in order to help maintain security and public order.
