MIRI (Sept 20): A tree broke and fell onto a saloon car parked by the roadside in Desa Senadin yesterday afternoon.
Lutong fire station chief senior fire officer II Henry Jugah said they received a report from the public on the incident at 5.36pm.
“A team of six firefighters then rushed to the scene of the incident, which was about 8km from the station, as soon as they received the emergency call.
“On arrival at the scene, it was found that a tree had fallen and hit a car,” he said in a media statement today.
Henry said firefighters then cut the tree with a chainsaw to remove the branches from the car.
“Our firemen also used a winch machine to stabilise the tree, to enable it to be safely cut and removed.
“After ensuring that the fallen tree was successfully removed and that the situation at the location was safe, the operation ended at 6.28pm,” he added.
