Tunku Azizah concludes four-day official visit to Kuching

KUCHING (Dec 9): Tengku Ampuan of Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah concluded her four-day official visit to Kuching on Tuesday.

According to a statement by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Tunku Azizah arrived at Kuching International Airport (KIA) at 9am, where she was welcomed by Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Snowdan Lawan and his wife Datin Melinda Claudia.

Tunku Azizah’s visit began on Sunday with the launching of the Sense of Malaysia at KIA, an event showcasing Sarawak’s artisan products.

Later that same day, she officiated the Borneo International Textile Festival (BiTF) 2025 at the Borneo Cultures Museum, followed by its official launching ceremony at the Pullman Hotel here.

She also attended the BiTF 2025 seminar at the same hotel on Monday morning.

To conclude the royal visit on Monday afternoon, Tunku Azizah visited the Juma’ani Pavilion in conjunction with its third anniversary and observed songket weaving demonstration and traditional sewing techniques.

Throughout the official visit, Tunku Azizah was accompanied by her daughter Tengku Puteri Raja Tengku Puteri Jihan Azizah ‘Athiyatullah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
