KUCHING: State-owned television station, TVS, has officially introduced a new logo as a strategic move forward after three years of its establishment.

Its chairman Datuk Norhyati Mohd Ismail said that the decision to change the visual identity is timely and aligns with TVS’s objectives.

“One of TVS’s objectives is to move forward and reach the global stage, we’ve gone through several evolutions in these three years. So, it’s time to move forward by revisiting our brand to make it better,” she said.

Norhyati said this to reporters after officiating at the launch of TVS’s new logo with deputy executive chairman cum chief executive officer Kushairi Abang at its office here today (Dec 31).

She added that the logo not only represents the colours of Sarawak’s flag, black, red, and yellow, but also reflects the state’s vibrancy.

“Taking inspiration from these colours, we aim to bring energy and dynamic to TVS to continue moving forward. With this change in logo, we hope it becomes a special inspiration, especially for TVS staff to work harder,” she said.

This new logo signifies a dynamic palette of three primary colours – yellow, red, and black.

This deliberate selection aligns with the colour scheme of the Sarawak flag, reinforcing the station’s strong affiliation with the state.

In stark contrast to the previous design, known for its simplicity and confinement within a teal square, the new design adopts a minimalist approach that epitomises a contemporary visual identity.

In addition to the logo, TVS also launched a theme song and a new website domain at www.tvsarawak.my, in moving towards national coverage, emphasising national integration between the regions of Malaysia.

Present at the event were Sarawak Media Group (SMG) board members Datuk Dr Jeniri Amir, Datuk Ahmad Shafiee Yaman and Rafidah Nawawi@Narawie.
