ROBAN: Two agricultural road projects in the Kalaka state constituency, financed by the Betong Divisional Development Agency (BDDA), are now complete and ready for use by the community.
Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri said these projects include the farm road in Sungai Ruan and the Block A Nyiar agricultural road nearby, both overseen by the Betong Division Agriculture Department.
“This means that two additional agricultural road projects under the BDDA in Kalaka DUN have been completed. Earlier this May, two agricultural roads were also finished.
“A few more projects are still under construction and are expected to be completed in the near future.”
He made these remarks when contacted by Suara Sarawak yesterday.
Previously, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Kalaka Branch secretary Gapor Ahmad represented him at the monitoring and verification session for the completed BDDA Agricultural Infrastructure project in Roban.
He explained that the completion of these agricultural roads will facilitate crop production for gardeners and farmers and provide daily convenience for residents.
Mohamad noted that the BDDA’s contributions have significantly supported farmers in developing essential infrastructure.
“Many more developments will be undertaken in the agricultural sector and other areas in the coming years. This is aimed at ensuring that the rural population can achieve the government’s goal of having farmers earn a minimum of RM6,000 a month.
“I believe this is achievable with the strong and stable support of the current government in Sarawak.”
He expressed hope that residents in the areas benefiting from the agricultural road projects would work even harder.
