LAWAS, 2 Oct: Police seized a set of homemade shotguns and three bullet points after arresting two men who were also found to be drug positive in an integrated operation on the Old-Damit Road, last Tuesday.

Senior District Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent Liong Tindan said the two 49-year-old suspects were arrested at about 11:50 am.

"An inspection of the house found a broken gun barrel in a room and three pieces of bullet in the kitchen.

"A further investigation found the broken gun was self-propelled and lacked a valid license", he said in a statement today.

He said the two suspects were arrested while their rifles broke and three bullet points were seized.

"Both suspected positive amphetamine and methamphetamine drugs are the result of a urine filter being conducted.

"The review of past offences found that one of the suspects had three previous offences and the case was investigated under section 8 (a) of the Firearms Act 1960 and section 15 (1) (a) ADB 1952.

Meanwhile, in a separate operation, he said, eight men were detained at various locations in Lawas district for drug positive from September 23 to yesterday.
