SIBU (March 28): Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, accompanied by his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, paid Hari Raya Aidilfitri visits here on Saturday to Temenggong Dato Sri Wan Hamid Edruce and former deputy minister Dato Wahab Dollah.
Tun Wan Junaidi first called on Wan Hamid and his family, where he and his wife were received by relatives and community representatives. The visit was held in a simple and cordial setting, in line with the Hari Raya tradition of strengthening ties.
Wan Hamid, who has served for many years as a Temenggong, is regarded as an influential figure who has helped preserve unity and cooperation among communities in Sibu.
After the visit, Wan Junaidi proceeded to the residence of Wahab, who welcomed the Head of State and exchanged festive greetings with him.
The former deputy minister remains an active figure in local affairs and continues to maintain close ties with community leaders.

The visits also provided an opportunity for both families to share updates on their activities and ongoing engagements within their respective communities.
Accompanying Wan Junaidi were Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Katibas assemblyman Lidam Assan, Sibu Resident Abang Mohamad Porkan and Temenggong Dato Vincent Lau.
Wan Junaidi’s programme in Sibu forms part of his Hari Raya itinerary, which aims to strengthen relationships across various levels of society and honour individuals who have played important roles in Sarawak’s development.
He is expected to continue similar engagements in other parts of the state over the festive period.
