KUCHING, May 6: Several areas in Kuching are facing an unscheduled water supply interruption from 11am to 7pm today following a pipe burst, according to Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd (SWB).
They said the damage was caused by third-party works under the Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) project along Jalan Wan Alwi, near the traffic light junction towards King Centre.
“Affected areas include Jalan Wan Alwi, Tabuan Jaya, Tabuan Kedandi, Tabuan Keranji, Jalan Bayor Bukit, Jalan Song and surrounding locations,” they said in a Facebook post.
SWB added that repair works are underway on a 400mm ductile iron main pipe that burst.
Consumers in the affected areas are advised to store sufficient water and use it sparingly until supply is fully restored. — DayakDaily
