KUCHING: As 2023 draws to a close, the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) Blood Bank Centre is experiencing a critical shortage in blood supply and urgently calling on the community for support.
“The blood supply is expected to further decrease if our targets are not met. We urge all eligible donors of A, B, O, and AB groups to assist us by donating blood,” said the Blood Bank Centre’s official Facebook page.
The Centre is actively working to boost participation in its blood donation campaigns, scheduled throughout the week.
The upcoming blood donation events here include two campaigns on December 27.
The first will be at the SGH Blood Bank Centre, available from 8 am to 12.30 pm, and again from 2 pm to 4.30 pm. On the same day, Ken’s Kitchen in Saradise will host a drive from 9 am to 1 pm.
The Centre will continue its donation campaign from December 28 to 29, offering two time slots daily: 8 am to 12.30 pm and 2 pm to 4.30 pm.
Additional drives are planned at Mile 4 Everrise on December 30 from 9am to 2pm, and at Emart Batu Kawa on New Year’s Eve during the same hours.
Although the Centre will be closed on New Year’s Day, a drive will still take place at Wisma Saberkas Ground Floor from 9 am to 2 pm.
