Wan Junaidi highlights business potential with African nations

KUCHING: Highlighting Malaysia’s flourishing trade and business potential with African nations, Dewan Negara President Tan Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar  stressed the mutually beneficial strengths between Malaysia and Africa.

“With strong and productive partnerships, growth and development among the Commonwealth countries will potentially match the advancement of the western countries,” he said in a post shared on his official Facebook page today.

Wan Junaidi, who is attending the 27th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC) in Kampala, Uganda, attended a dinner with Malaysian expatriates in that African nation.

The gathering was held alongside the conference, which continues until Jan 6.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to revisit the African continent following his last visit to Ghana in September, Wan Junaidi said: “It’s regrettable that certain Commonwealth nations opted out of attending the 27th CSPOC hosted by Uganda due to disagreements over a domestic law they passed.”

Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Johari Abdul  also attended the dinner.
