PETALING JAYA: The water of 13 rivers in three peninsula states has exceeded the dangerous level as of 7pm on Wednesday (Dec 27) due to days of continuous rain.
According to the publicinfobanjir portal, seven rivers in Pahang were recorded to have dangerous water levels.
They are Sungai Pahang at Kuala Sungai Chini of Pekan (1.72m over the dangerous level of 14.9m), Sungai Tembeling at Kampung Merting of Jerantut (1.03m/60m), Sungai Keratong in Rompin (0.81m/11m), Sungai Pahang at Paloh Inai, Pekan (0.57/10.3m), Sungai Rompin (0.48m/9.5m), Sungai Luit at Kampung Subuh of Maran (0.29m/27m) and Sungai Pahang in Kuala Krau of Temerloh (0.14m/40m).
In Kelantan, Sungai Golok at Rantau Panjang of Pasir Mas has reached 10.53m, 1.53m above the dangerous level of 9m.
The other rivers are Sungai Kelantan at Kuala Besar of Kota Baru (1.1m/1.85m), Sungai Kelantan at Kuala Krai (0.57m/25m) and Sungai Kelantan at Kusial of Tanah Merah (0.42m/16m).
In Terengganu, the water level of Sungai Dungun at Jambatan Jerangau of Dungun was recorded at 14.55m, 2.05m above the dangerous level of 12.5m while the river water of Sungai Kemaman at Rumah Pam Paya Paman in Kemaman rose to 4.6m, 0.6m above the dangerous level of 4m.
Meanwhile, 23 rivers in eight states hit the warning level.
Among them are the Jerantut stretch (Sungai Yap, Jerantut Feri and Kuala Tahan) and the Temerloh stretch (Lubuk Pasu) of Sungai Pahang, as well as Lubok Paku in Maran and Waterfront in Bera.
The others are Sungai Jempol at Ran Felda Jengka in Maran and Sungai Tembeling at Kampung Bantal Seberang in Jerantut, as well as Sungai Belat at Sri Damai and Sungai Kuantan at Pasir Kemudi of Kuantan.
Also at the warning level are Sungai Kelantan at Tambatan D'Raja of Kota Baru and Sungai Golok at Kuala Jambu of Tumpat in Kelantan.
In Terengganu, the rivers that record a warning level of water are Sungai Tersat at Kampung Sekayu of Hulu Terengganu as well as Sungai Nerus at the stretch of Kampung Bukit and Kampung Langkap in Setiu.
In Sarawak, the water at rivers has risen above the warning level. They are Sungai Batang Kayan in Serian, Batang Oya in Tamin of Sibu and Kuala Balingian in Mukah.
The other rivers included Sungai Klang at Selat Muara in Klang (Selangor), Sungai Lenik at Ladang Chaah of Segamat (Johor), Sungai Anak Bukit at Jambatan TAR of Kota Setar (Kedah) and Sungai Kinabatangan at Barek Manis of Sabah's Kinabatangan.
