KUCHING: The battle for pickleball supremacy went down to the wire as the WAK Fest Pickleball Challenge (WFPC) 2026 Grand Finale crowned its champions after two days of action at Star Pickleball here.
Held from October 3 to 4, the tournament attracted around 150 players competing across the Boys U12, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, Veteran Doubles and Team Event categories.
Anaqi Azree and Raffahanz Hafizun emerged champions in the Boys U12 category, with Aryan Jair and Hfy Jamal finishing runners-up.
Rayfal Hardy and Muhd Waqeel Nufael took third place, while Justin Chen and Ashton Chan finished fourth.
In the Men’s Doubles, Muhd Nur Hidayat and Zamri Idris claimed the title, followed by Emir Effendy and Rashdon Nufael in second.

Jacqualin Jeinoster and Michelle Tan emerged champions in the Women’s Doubles, with Goh Pui Choo and Evelyn Kho finishing runners-up.
Jay Hj Ali and Izzah Insyirah secured third place, while Kok Ai Chin and Liew Meang finished fourth.
The Veteran Doubles title went to Sopian Julaihi and Zukrie Safian, followed by Zaidy Syah and Zulaihi Pnee in second.
Zaiddie Bujang and Amin Tamel finished third, while Gabriel Ong and Brandon Chong took fourth.
ZBPC topped the Team Event, with Waddle finishing second and Harmoni Fighters third.
The competition offered cash prizes across the Team, Individual and Junior events, with Team champions receiving RM3,500, Individual champions RM1,500 and Junior champions RM800.
Runners-up in the three categories received between RM100 and RM1,750, with trophies and medals also awarded.
The Grand Finale marked the culmination of the WFPC 2026 series, which featured qualifying events in Sibu, Miri and Kuching before the finalists converged in Kuching.
Organised as part of the WAK Festival in collaboration with The Podium Project, the series aimed to connect players from different cities while providing competitive opportunities for players across different age groups and skill levels.
The tournament also brought together players, families, organisers, sponsors, volunteers and supporters, adding to the growing pickleball community in Sarawak.
Prizes for the winners and finalists will be presented by WAK Festival.
The organisers also thanked all players for their energy, sportsmanship and support throughout WFPC 2026, while apologising for any shortcomings along the way.
