Woman killed after car crashes into tree at Jalan Penrissen in Kuching

KUCHING (April 4): A woman was killed after her vehicle skidded and crashed into a tree at Mile 8 Jalan Penrissen here early on Saturday morning.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) dispatched a team from the Kota Sentosa fire station after receiving a call at 2.40am.

“The incident involves a car believed to have lost control before hitting a tree.

“The female victim was pinned in the driver’s seat and was unconscious, and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics,” Bomba said.

Bomba personnel then used specialised equipment to extricate the victim’s body before handing it over to paramedics and the police for further action.

The operation ended at 4.28am after cleanup work at the scene was completed.
