Woman missing after apparent jump

SIBU: A woman is believed to have jumped into the Rajang River from behind the Waterfront Residence earlier today (Aug 11).

The Sibu Fire and Rescue Department said that the woman has been identified as 25-year-old Sandy Ng Pin Pin.

Her sister said that the family discovered Sandy’s slippers, purse, and phones at the scene, leading them to suspect she might have entered the water.

Responding to a distress call received at 1.51 pm, firefighters from the Sibu central station along with police officers were swiftly deployed to the location.

Operations are ongoing as rescue teams continue to gather information and monitor the situation closely.
